Donate to the Africa Humanitarian Crisis Appeal

Your gift will support the work of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Somalia and other impacted African countries to provide support to people hit hard by multiple humanitarian crises. Your donation could provide health care, relief supplies, and assistance for individuals, families, and displaced populations affected by drought, floods, and severe weather effects, or those experiencing food insecurity. Donations may also help to support immediate and ongoing relief efforts, long-term recovery, resiliency, and preparedness for future events in and around the impacted regions.

When we launch an appeal, donations made in response to it are used to help individuals and communities identified in the appeal recover from emergencies and disasters. The funds will be designated for the purpose for which they were given. In the unlikely event that we raise more money than can be reasonably and effectively spent, we will strive to use any residual funds for similar purposes and/or in a similar geography and to respond to other disasters and humanitarian needs throughout the world.

The fundraising cost related to any emergency appeal will not exceed five percent.
